The most pressing topic worldwide right now is the climate crisis and those who seek to halt it.

We Will Never Surrender from Extinction Rebellion, was written and recorded by Friday Firsts own Mick J. Clark whom we featured in July this year. First used as an anti-fracking protest in Balcombe, West Sussex in 2013.

The song was offered to Extinction Rebellion for the “Great work they are doing and and their peaceful protest against climate change” says Mick, who is a strong supporter of Greenpeace Environmental Trust.

As protest songs go this very easy listening, speaking of togetherness and that strength of unity without anger and bitterness which is by far in keeping with the strong yet peaceful message of Extinction Rebellion.

Music has long since brought people together in powerful causes and what can be more compelling that a message highlighted in song? It has been described as poignant and fitting for the cause.

Since the group itself have no registered charity and really loved the track they suggested it was put on the I Give, You Give page to raise much needed funds for Greenpeace and their all important work.

Extinction Rebellion is a global environmental movement with the stated aim of using nonviolent civil disobedience to compel government action to avoid tipping points in the climate system, biodiversity loss, and the risk of social and ecological collapse.

Mick is no stranger to writing to raise awareness and funds for the most worthy causes having released the song Soldier Boy the Official Help For Heroes song back in 2013 and is passionate about such causes.
