Celebration plans are underway for the 25th anniversary of the first Spice Girls single.
This year has seen the huge quarter century birthday for both Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill, and the first Foo Fighters album.
Next year see’s the anniversary of The Spice Girls 1996 single, Wannabe.
To mark the huge anniversary, the iconic band will be featured in a new Channel 4 documentary film, titled Girl Powered: The Spice Girls.
According to a press release, the film will include archival footage and “revealing interviews”.
A representative for Channel 4 shared a statement on Twitter, saying ”Spice Up Your Life with new documentary Girl Powered: The Spice Girls. Through archive footage and revealing interviews, this series will tell the complete story of the best-selling girl band of all time.”
The Spice Girls officially broke up in 1999, devastating fans around the world, but they have rejoined for two comeback tours in the time since, first in 2007, and again in 2019.
Each one has been greeted with a huge amount of excitement from fans, many of whom were too young to see the band before their break up.
The news comes after Emma Bunton revealed last week, the five original members of the band reunited as friends, for a post-lockdown hike in the woods together.
Considering Victoria Beckham is well known for often choosing to no longer associate with the band, thats a big deal to many fans.
As more talk of a possible 2021 tour, to mark the anniversary together, swirls online, the question of if Victoria Beckham will finally rejoin them, is one bought up consistently.
It doesn’t look likely, most expect that the tour will be the same line up as last time with Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel B, and Mel C, with dates in Australia, Europe, and America.
