The Back To Black singer relished the idea of joining the infamous 27 Club – troubled musicians who died and gained notoriety in death before reaching their 28th birthday.

Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin and Rolling Stone Brian Jones all died in tragic circumstances at the age of 27.

Amy’s hairdresser Alex Foden, who gave her the distinctive beehive said: “She wanted to be immortalised like Nirvana front-man Kurt Cobain and Janis Joplin.”

She added: “Amy always told me she thought she’d die young and that she knew she’d be a member of the 27 Club. I think she almost needed to die a legend. Amy knew her limits – I truly believe she knew this final binge might kill her.”
