Continuing the city’s practice of holding gigs in ecclesiastical settings, (St. Bride’s, St. Luke’s, the Cathedral Crypt) Harvest Sun host Amor De Dias at the Scandinavian Church on Friday 17th June.

Spanish for ‘love of days’ the core of the group is Alasdair MacLean of revered indie band The Clientele and Lupe Nunez-Fernandez of excellent lo-fi pop duo Pipas.

With vocal duties shared between the pair in English and Spanish, the duo’s debut album Street of the Love of Days was released to considerable acclaim last month.

The disc has been described as ‘beautifully crafted and rich in demure detail’ by Pitchfork.com and garnered a four-star review in Uncut.

The duo, along with ‘a handful of friends’, pieced the LP together ‘in secret’ between 2008 and 2011 in London.

Signed to the excellent US indie label Merge, also home to Lambchop and Spoon, Amor De Dias are highly likely to appeal to fans of both bands.

The stunning Scandinavian Church, one of the most evocative venues in Liverpool, will be the perfect setting for the band’s gentle acoustic-led chamber pop pieces.

As we’re on hallowed ground, its’ bring your own booze and the Scandinavian Kitchen will be serving up tasty treats too.
