Laws is making moves in the underground hip-hop scene. Having signed with J.U.S.T.I.C.E/Asylum/Warner Bros Records off the back of two mixtapes, Your Future Favourite Rapper and 4:57, the Brazilian born and States raised emcee will drop his Paul McCartney dedication mixtape, Yesterday’s Future, in the coming weeks.

With his mix of humourous, honest and intelligent rhymes, not to mention his love of The Beatles and rock, he has created a unique voice that could fill a gaping hole in the rap industry.

Yesterday’s Future developed out of the rappers love of Macca’s solowork and his dream of collaborating with one of the Fab Four.

Talking to Hiphopsite.com he said; ‘Yesterday’s Future is something I wanted to do for a long time. I just wanted to make a project with one of my favorite artists; Paul McCartney. A lot of people don’t really know his solo work, so I decided to take my favorites songs of his and write to them like we wrote them together. So I write lyrics to what he’s singing about.’

With the Beatles and UK rock influencing Laws so much, he explained his decision to go back and re-examine the music he grew up listening to and why he has so much respect for the old timers;

‘With rock you speak of melodies and you can’t talk about that without thinking of some of the early 60’s rockers, especially the Beatles. They changed the musical landscape, dropped some of the most influential songs of all time and created genres.’

Check out the Paul and Law’s ‘collaboration’ Momma Miss America, which samples the 70’s tune of the same name, in the video box.
