Elsie’s new single London Town is backed by a hilarious INTERACTIVE YouTube video which takes a cheeky swipe at our obsession with celebrity culture.
Everyone from Nicki Minaj to Paris Hilton, by way of Kim Kardashian and Amy Childs gets a nod of the head as Elsie pokes fun at some of the biggest names in show-business.
Elsie releases London Town on 23rd July on Big Print/Warner Music.
On her Mix-tape Monday selection, Elsie said: “I find chart music very samey at the moment so my play-list is made up of songs from several different genres and eras.
“It’s a shame that these days popular music has to conform to a style or a type as I think it limits creativity.
“However, if you look hard enough, there are still some artists getting through with music not crafted entirely to please the suits.”
1: LDN – Lily Allen. A brilliant summer song with a unique sound.
2: Feel The Love – Rudimental. Love the video and it’s beautifully emotional.
3: Ill Manors – Plan B. Perhaps the most creative UK artist at the moment.
4: Clint Eastwood – Gorillaz. Damon’s a genius and this sounds like no-one else.
5: We Are Young – Fun. Another pop track that follows no fashion or trend.
6: 212 – Azealia Banks. She’s so ballsy and I love the tone of her voice when rapping OR singing.
7: Sexy And I Know It – LMFAO. A brilliant almost parody of the pointless songs in the charts.
8: Titanium – David Guetta & Sia. One of the best vocalists around, full stop.
9: 10/10 – Paolo Nutini. The soundtrack to my bath time.
10: Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepson. Unashamed cheesy pop that works.
