The guys down at In:Motion Bristol have had a cracking season so far, with the likes of Hessle Audio and Field Day lending their line ups to the infamous Motion stage.

November 25th will be no exception as dance festival giants Bloc bring the raucous to Bristol. Making a name for themselves after putting on one of the best dance music festivals in the entire world over the past five years, the Bloc family are heading to Bristol.

Headlining the evening is Bristol’s very own Joker. The young maestro of grime and dubstep has been getting rather a lot of attention over the past few years, and 2012 is set to be his year.

Starting out at the tender age of 16, the kid that let his music do the talking started turning heads with his unique approach to 140bpm.

With tracks such as ‘Purple City’ and ‘Play Doe’ cementing his underground status, the now 22 year old is set to spread his wings into mainstream success.

Next up on the agenda, is Holland’s finest Martyn. After his Broken EP was released on Revolve:r back in 2007, Martyn has almost accidently began to create his own foreign genre altogether.

Fusing his roots of techno and house, with a nod to dubstep tendencies, Martyn has gained fans from across the spectrum.

Another gem blowing up the main room is Dutch producer 2562. After releasing his first album ‘Aerial’ back in 2008, Dave Huisman is a firm favourite amongst the music junkies.

2562 is no stranger to Bristol, having already played a live showcase of latest album ‘Fever’ at independent record store Idle Hands back in April.

The main room will have some stiff competition in the form of James Holden headlining the tunnel. Firmly setting his place in the dance music scene with ‘A Break in the Clouds,’ Holden has become an almost marmite personality among the chin scratchers.

There’s no doubt however, that Holden’s set will be full of monster remixes, melodic anthems and the odd technological beauty.

Border Community darling Nathan Fake will also be playing host in the tunnel. After keeping relatively quiet on his own front since his 2009 release ‘Hard Islands,’ Nathan managed to kick up quite a storm when he remixed Radiohead’s ‘Morning Mr Magpie.’

Al Tourettes will be bringing the tunes for Bloc, further proving his high end status. After studying at Bath Spa, Storey met Bristol’s very own Appleblim and the two began making crossover dubstep/techno like never before. A regular at the Bloc festival, Tourettes has his finger firmly on the pulse.

The special guest of the evening is electro veteran Luke Vibert. Causing a fuss since 1993, Vibert has recently released on Ninja Tune with Wagon Christ’s ‘Toomorrow’ back in March.

A set from this man is certainly a treat, as his experience and originality has propelled him into the perfect candidate for dance music royalty.

If you can’t make it to the night itself or simply fall in love with it, then you can look forward to the Bloc festival next summer, taking place in a secret location on July 6th and 7th.

After outgrowing their Butlins home, the Bloc family have decided to up sticks and move on to bigger and better things.
