Delta Maid’s soulful voice and distinct finger plucking guitar style filled the air outside and inside The Bombed Out Church with powerful melodies and storytelling songs.

The rising blues star is at home on the mic, telling the crowd ‘I’ve heard a lot of people talk about me being a Scouse Dolly Parton, well I’m alright with that…”

Delta Maid is more Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn in our book and is a refreshing talent, the likes of which Liverpool haven’t produced in a while.

Drag Your Spirit Down and Of My Own prove Delta’s great songwriting ability and she’s an emerging powerhouse on the live circuit, who fully deserved her own headline showcase.

Stay tuned to Purple Revolver for more Delta Maid blues and country news including what happened at our zine making workshop and interview.
