Elena Tonra and her fellow musical creatives took the stage at Liverpool’s O2 Academy as they begin their tour around the world.

Daughter – best known for their ability to captivate and fascinate – took the audience on a journey through the memories of their debut album ‘If You Leave’whilst still remaining in work-mode to promote their upcoming album ‘Not To Disappear’.The three piece band draw in the crowd like a moth to a flame. The bittersweet memories of lost loves are brought to mind from the beautiful music, bringing a smile and a tear to the eye.

The setting could not be more perfect for this once shy band. The intimate low-ceiling and mysterious lighting creates a home for only those who dare to tease. Daughter does this by finding emotion within the audience, taking them through the highs and lows of their past, creating suspense and careful play with astonishing dynamics.

The fantastic set of new songs are greeted with open arms by fans old and new. They are a little louder but dare not to crush Elena’s delicate voice, only work with it to create the perfect harmony of fragility and strength.

Support act and fellow indie-folk follower, Pixx made sure to give an impressive, “short but sweet” performance. Her voice is incredibly powerful and certainly captured the crowd’s attention with the hint that the best is yet to come.

Daughter treated the audience to fond favourites including ‘Amsterdam’, ‘Youth’ and ‘Tomorrow’. It’s so interesting to see Elena untangle throughout the performance and become almost uplifted with her new tracks ‘Numbers’ and ‘Doing The Right Thing’. This set of incredible artists hit new heights in the O2 Academy but there is no doubt, they will touch the sky in their future endeavours.

PR Rating: ***** Hypnotic and captivating
