Thinking of heading to the gorgeous Peak Distract to see the likes of The Wombats, Catfish and The Bottleman, The Libertines to name a few? If so, where are you planning to stay? It’s so easy to get lost in the excitement of a festival, so much so that you don’t actually plan the necessities – what to bring? and How to get there?
Luckily, Y Not offers a general camping site that is included in the weekend ticket price. They supply the field and the good times, you supply the tent. They have a range of different camping arrangement to fulfil your needs, whether that be quiet camping – if you need your beauty sleep, family camping – if you’re bringing children, or VIP camping (glamping) – if you want luxury and don’t want the hassle of buying and bringing a tent. However, we understand that camping isn’t to everyone’s taste and therefore Y Not is giving festival goers the opportunity to stay in a vehicle! It’s not exactly a five star hotel, but if the sound of rain pattering against a fabric roof isn’t your idea of fun, then upgrading to stay in the likes of a caravan or motorhome may be more suited for you.
If you don’t fancy driving or enduring a train journey to the Peak District, then luckily you can start your festival fun early on The Big Green Coach which departs from a huge range of towns and cities, including Liverpool and Birkenhead. The coach can drop you off on site on either Thursday or Friday morning and will bring your exhausted self home on Monday all for a rather friendly price of £29.
If you’re unsure of what to bring to Y Not, then we suggest yourself! This festival is set to be huge and we guarantee you’ll have an amazing time, however obviously you’ll need your glad rags and wellies as the site will be covered in mud! Whilst the site will have a huge range of food places to dine from, we suggest you bring snacks to keep you going in the night as well as blankets and a sleeping bag to keep you warm (it may be summer, but trust us it’s freezing in a tent!). Wet wipes are a must, for obvious reasons as well as all your toiletries. Bring a torch to help find your way back to your accommodation for the night and lots of towels to store your muddy clothes within. Items like fold up chairs are ideal for when you’re getting ready or just need a good sit down on something that isn’t a grassy field. Also, we’re sure we don’t need to tell you this, but portable chargers are a must! Your belongings can be stored in backpacks as using these are the easiest way to carry everything – pulling a suitcase through a field really isn’t a good look!
