The punk nostalgia began in Eric’s Liverpool many moons ago with what could be described as the start of a massive buzz for punk culture, which has continued right up to present day.

An impressive line-up of major musical talent will be under the same roof including Lightning Seeds, Peter Wylie & The Mighty WAH!, The Clang Group and Sugarmen at the 02 Academy on Sunday 24th July, which promises to be an Eric’s influenced set.

The night promises to feature influential greats but to hold a modern twist of entertainment with the youngsters Sugarmen preparing for what is set to be an unforgettable night.

Ian Broudie, of the Lightning Seeds, who began his career as a youngster in the midst of the madness, is returning to do his first hometown show since the memorable gig in Sefton Park where he performed with the Philharmonic Orchestra as part of LIMF 2014.

Events like this are a massive drive to show the talent Liverpool holds, especially with the presence of part time rockstar Pete Whylie, who became known for his post punk introduction to music in the late 70s and early 80s, setting the bar high being one of the finest songwriters of his generation.

The LIMF 76-16 line up also features guitarist Clive Langer from the legendary Liverpool band Deaf School, who will be returning with his new band The Clang Group. The band’s set will preview new work from their forthcoming album ‘Practice’, due for release on 30 September.

The gig’s refreshing taste of up to date and impressive song writing talent, comes from the four piece Sugarmen, who’s growing reputation has seen them play two Hyde Park shows and has given them huge recognition for their electric chemistry on stage.

Event time: 19:30-23:30

Tickets for this event are £26.40 or £42.24 for both Sat & Sun 76-16 From Eric’s to Evol events.
