Homeland star Claire Danes has spoken out about how funny she finds the change from the seriousness of hunting terrorists on set to sewing for her little boy.
When Claire began filming Homeland again earlier this year, the 34-year-old admitted she was fearful she would hate working and be desperate to be with her son.
But the Emmy-winning actress did reveal how hard she initially found it to adapt to motherhood, which she found cold and isolating.
Claire said: “I was in a fairly alien place, freezing, didn’t know many people at all. Being a new mum is quite isolating to begin with.
“I was literally without any of my family or friends or resources.
“So it was a tough entry into motherhood. It’s so wonderful, but those first three months are so disorientating. I was in a bubble. A very cold bubble.”
When she did go back to work as Carrie Mathison for Series 3, Claire added how easily she could jump from the hard-hitting script to knitting for her son.
She added: “I find it highly amusing that I’m taking on terrorists and whatever tomfoolery I’m doing and then I race back to my director’s chair and start embroidering onesies as if my life depended on it.”
