John Singleton let slip that he might team up with rapper turned actor Ice Cube one more time to tell the turbulent story of Niggaz Wit Attitudes.

The Boyz N the Hood director spoke to The Playlist;

‘I can’t talk too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing’s come to fruition yet, but Ice Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story. The script is really, really good, and so we’re just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it.’

The American hip-hop group, consisting of Dr Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Arabian Prince, DJ Yella and Eazy-E, marked the start of the gangsta rap movement.

Straight Outta Compton was one of the first albums to be given a Parental Advisory sticker, they were banned from mainstream radio and touring at times.

Despite all the obstacles their debut went double platinum.

Ice Cube left in 1989, with Dre moving to Death Row in ’91. Eazy-E died of AIDs related complications in 1995. Cube and Dre both feuded openly with Eazy right up until his death.
