Marvel Studios have unveiled the first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which has wracked up three million views in the first 24 hours.
The trailer teases viewers with a new cast of heroes that will help ‘Cap’ save the world from certain destruction.
Leading on from the events of the first Movie, super soldier Steve Rogers is struggling to adapt to the modern world when a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative comes under attack.
It falls to Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) to unravel a web of intrigue that threatens the safety of the world.
The Trailer teases the same distinctive shield. But, rebooting the captain in his new modern surroundings means we can expect to see new weapons, new villains and new allies including the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), who possesses the power of flight.
8 Mile actor, Mackie, admitted he is nervous about starring as the Falcon.
He said: “The comic book world is 100 times more fickle than movie audiences, so I’ve been trying to avoid reading any fan blogs,” but promises that the movie will surpass the standard action of Captain America: The First Avenger.
Mackie’s mentor and Pulp Fiction star, Samuel L jackson also brings his own brand of cool, reprising his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury.
Samuel has become a common sight in Marvel films. With S.H.I.E.L.D. at the centre of the plot it seems he will be appearing in more than a cameo capacity in this new movie.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is due for cinema release on April 4 2014.
