The new Man of Steel trailer was released this week and posesses a much darker tone than the previous trailers released by Warner Brothers.
Zod, sworn enemy of Superman, is put in the spotlight this time. Played by Michael Shannon, a foreboding message is broadcast demanding that Kal-El (Superman) gives himself up within 24 hours, warning otherwise Earth will “suffer the consequences”.
Zod tells Earth:”Your world has sheltered one of my citizens. He will look like you, but he is not one of you,
“To those of you who know of his location, the fate of your planet rests in your hands.”
The clip includes battles between Superman and Zod, Lois Lane being rescued by Superman during a storm, and him drowning in a sea of skulls.
Henry Cavill plays the title role in Zack Snyder’s re-make of the DC comic adaptation. The new film has a star studded cast with the likes of Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Amy Adams as Clark’s love interest Lois Lane.
With much action and explosions generating lots of excitement, Man of Steel doesn’t give too much away in this trailer, but the preview sets the film up for a deeper look into Superman’s world.
