Chris Rock has surprisingly taken the straight man role in his latest comedy Death at the Funeral.
Rock’s new flick is a remake of the 2007 Brit farce into an all American comedy boasting some big names including Martin Lawrence and Danny Glover.
The comedian revealed in a recent interview that although he will be the straight guy to Tracey Morgan’s ridiculousness but says he did manage to get in some ‘zingers.’
With Chris Rock taking a step back from his usually outrageous role as the comedic front man (even voicing a ginger guinea pig in Dr Doolittle he managed to upstage Eddie Murphy)and focusing his cinematic efforts on more serious subjects such as his next cinema release, ‘Good Hair’ an exploration of the culture of black hair.
Sounds a little silly but Rock insists there is a serious message to be learned from ‘Good Hair’, after discovering the vast sums of money spent on hair and the historic culture behind the weave.
Still sounds silly but Rock seems intent to be the next Michael Moore, making economy the focus of his next feature explaining that the film will be ‘about how credit ruins all our lives.’
