The first official trailer for the highly anticipated sequel Bill and Ted Face the Music has been released online by Orion Pictures on Bill and Ted day (9th June).

The long awaited third instalment sees Keanu Reeves (John Wick) reuniting with Alex Winter (The Lost Boys), and reprising their most excellent roles of time-traveling metal-heads Ted “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston Esq from 29 years ago.

The movie sees the pair as they’re visited by a messenger from the future, who tells them they only have 78 minutes to write their hit song, or the universe will be doomed, so they decide to travel to the future to steal the already written song from their future selves.

The movie is also set to introduce the middle-aged pair’s daughters, Billie and Theodora, played by Brigette Lundy-Paine (Atypical) and Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), and will also see the return of fan-favourite The Grim Reaper (William Sadler) from Bogus Journey.

Chris Matheson and Bill Solomon are returning to write the movie. This will also be directed by Dean Pariston, who is best known for the classic comedy Galaxy Quest (1999).

With the ongoing pandemic, it is unclear whether this will be getting a cinematic release, with the official release date being 21st August. It has been speculated that the movie could be straight to VOD, but with some cinemas reopening worldwide, that might not happen.

Whatever format the movie is released, it is something for fans to get excited about.

Bill and Ted Face the Music will be released 21st August 2020.
