It’s been 20 years since we last saw Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter battle robotic doppelgangers from the far out future, but this week a slightly older Keanu hinted a plot for the forthcoming Bill and Ted 3… Most righteous!
The Matrix star let loose that the script is underway. He said: “When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written a song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened.
“So they’ve become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”
The news will be welcomed by fans who, until now, believed that the age of the original stars and Keanu’s now Hollywood heavy hitter status would have scuppered chances of threequel.
Keanu pointed out that the film, although expected to go ahead, was some way off hitting the cinemas.
The Canadian actor, whose name is Hawaiian and means ‘cool breeze’ added: “I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft.”
