Much like vinyl’s resurgence in the world of music, the world of film is seeing a bit of a revival of its own, in the form of VHS tapes.
It seems that cassette tapes are slowly coming back into fashion, it might not be too long before we start seeing them crop up in stores once again, perhaps we should go up into our lofts and dust off our VHS players.
Entertainment retailer HMV are embracing this comeback, launching a VHS Range, classic 80s movies make up this cool collection of cult classics.
In a celebration of VHS era movies, the VHS Range is being launched in a new limited edition Blu-ray/DVD package.
12 titles will be launching initially, with each release featuring a brilliantly retro sleeve inspired by their original CIC VHS release. Each title will be released on July 30th.
Each movie comes with a box printed with a VHS cassette design, but with the height of a DVD to ensure it fits on shelves. Included inside are copies of the movie on both Blu-ray and DVD as well as a fold out replica theatrical poster, bubblegum card and sticker. They are available to pre-order now, both in-store and online.
