Why this is the best time to watch the original Blade Runner.
With a sequel to the original 1982 film coming out in 2017 this is one of the best times to watch the classic Sci-fi film.
The original follows Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a retired Blade Runner in a dystopian Los Angeles in 2019. Blade Runners hunt replicants, which are machines that can’t easily be distinguished from humans and are considered illegal on earth.
The film follows Deckard as he hunts down 4 escaped replicants through the sprawling metropolis.
The film intelligently made you think about what it is to be human but also had a plot that keeps the audience gripped from start to finish and also included one of the most intriguing villains in cinema history.
The main thing that grabs you, however, is the gorgeous cinematography and the amount of detail that it is put into each shot which in turn pulls you into this futuristic world.
This is something the sequel needs to replicate.
Blade Runner 2049 has Ryan Gosling as the leading man, alongside Harrison Ford who will be reprising his role as Rick Deckard.
Release date: October 6, 2017.
