Samuel L Jackson has revealed that he is still unsure whether J.J. Abrams has an intended role for him in the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII.

The Pulp Fiction star said that despite hinting to director J.J. Abrahams that he would love to be involved, once he saw Disney had begun holding open auditions for new actors, he knew his chances were slim.

“I pretty much hinted to J.J. that I wanted to be in the film at George Lucas’ wedding, and he was kinda like, ‘mmm'”

The plot for Star Wars Episode VII is still unclear and the script for is currently undergoing some serious rewriting. But, Disney revealed earlier this week that they are not done with the open casting for the movie. The studio is now advertising for a “40-something military man a la Matt Damon in Elysium.” to star in an unknown role.

The star commented, “Well, maybe we should just go through the auditions and see if we can get a job!”

But, when Samuel spoke to Mark Hamill and Ewan McGregor they both confirmed that they too hadn’t been contacted by the studio.

“I asked Mark if he’d heard from J.J. Abrams and he said, ‘No’, and then all of a sudden, Ewan was there (in London) and I spoke to him on the phone, asked him if he was there doing Star Wars. He said, ‘No, they haven’t called me.'”

This highlights that many questions still surround the plot and characters of Star Wars Episode VII, but with shooting starting in the new year, many feel details will be revealed soon.
