Star Trek 3 could begin filming within the next six months, according to Mr Spock himself Zachary Quinto.
The actor revealed during an appearance on NBC’s Today show that he is set to strap on those latex ears again in the very near future.
“I think it’s on the horizon,” Quinto said. “Things are rumbling, so I have a feeling that we will be in production sometime in the next six months.”
JJ Abrams directed the 2009 Star Trek reboot as well as last year’s sequel, but will not return for a third outing due to his Star Wars commitments.
Roberto Orci, who co-wrote the first two films, is rumoured to be inheriting the director’s chair from Abrams.
Chris Pine is expected to reprise his role as Captain Kirk and Zoe Saldana revisit her part as Nyota Uhura in the third Star Trek.
