Quentin Tarantino is to host a special 50th anniversary screening of the classic Sergio Leone western epic: A Fist Full of Dollars at this year’s Cannes festival.
The Pulp Fiction director has frequently cited the Dollar’s trilogy as one of his greatest influences.
References to Leone’s work can be found throughout his filmography, particularly his latest film Django Unchained.
The 50th anniversary features a new digital remastered version of the film. Reportedly painstakingly matched up with an original technicolor reel of the film.
So film fanatics can hopefully be rest assured that the digital transfer is true to the image that Sergio Leone had.
This process was partly completed by Martin Scorsese’s Film Foundation which aims to preserve as many films as it can for the future.
