The very idea of Iron Man facing off with Batman, Thor meeting Wonder Woman or Spider-Man swinging alongside The Flash seems like an impossible dream to comic fans due to the creative rights held by rival studios… But It appears this dream is shared with Aquaman actor Jason Momoa.

Speaking on the Steve Wright show on BBC Radio 2, the Justice League and Game of Thrones star was asked about the possibility of seeing a crossover between the two in the future.

Jason said: “It would be totally cool to have a crossover.

“Personally, I’d just like to get my butt beat by the Hulk, then take him out in the ocean and show him my stuff too.”

Jason also went on to say that he was ‘dear friends’ with Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and that he would love the characters to meet.

He also said he would like Aquaman to cross paths with Iron Man and some of the other “awesome” characters.

He added: “They don’t have to necessarily fight, there’s enough problems in the world right now.

“There’s some cool things you could do.”

It sounds like Jason Momoa has given this a lot of thought. He is also not giving in to the heated debate of Marvel Vs DC that many fans have, saying: “I think Avengers and everyone over at Marvel have done a fantastic job. Guardians of the Galaxy was hilarious and I’d like to see it keep evolving.”

When pressed about his role in Justice League, Jason said: “I got called into Zack Snyder’s office about four years ago and he told me what he wanted to do with the role. It was just an honour, being half Polynesian, our people respect so many water gods.”

With Justice League, Jason explained will be meeting an already established Aquaman with a history: “He’s very gruff, stirs the pot, devil’s advocate and kind of grumpy,”

“Here, he’s at his lowest. Doesn’t like Atlantis, doesn’t like humans, wants to be left alone. It makes you curious about what happened to him.”

Jason and co-star Amber Heard, who plays Aquaman’s wife Mera, have recently finished filming the solo feature for Aquaman, due for release in 2018. “You get to see where this beautiful boy comes from,” comments Jason. “What his life was like, what was ripped away from him and how he became what he was and who he lost and why he’s covering up so many things.”

He then went on to summarise where Aquaman’s story would be heading by stating: “We’re going to have to eventually see him turn into the king and unite the land and sea.”

It definitely sound like Warner Bros. and DC have a good story with Aquaman and they have cast the right actor for the job, giving fans a reason to be excited for the character’s cinematic debut.

Whether or not Marvel and DC can ever create a crossover movie remains to be seen, but with a large list of comic book movies on the way, there’s still a lot to look forward to.
