Jennifer Lawrence has been inducted into the Guinness World Records thanks to her role in The Hunger Games franchise.

The actress’ character in the series, Katniss Everdeen, has been named the highest-grossing action movie heroine of 2015.

Lawrence achieved the feat due to the success of the first two Hunger Games films, which have grossed £928 million between them internationally.

Second instalment Catching Fire achieved a Guinness Record of its own, claiming the gong for ‘highest-grossing post-apocalypse movie’ with box office takings of £520 million worldwide.

Meanwhile, HBO show Game of Thrones made the 2015 edition of the book after becoming the most-pirated TV programme for the year, with around 5.9 million illegal downloads per episode.

The third entry in the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay – Part 1, will be released in cinemas in November.
