Warner Brothers gives Harry Potter spin off movie ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ a release date.

The planning of the film was announced earlier this year and is based on a book that the students of Hogwarts are required to read in their first year.

The film is set to premier on the 18th of November 2016 and is based around the story of Newt Scamander, a famous magizoologist.

This story is set around 70 years before the main story of Harry Potter so when the film is released, do not expect to see the familiar faces of Harry, Ron or Hermione.

No cast member names have been released in connection to the film but it has been confirmed that author of the original books, J.K. Rowling, will be writing the feature herself.

This will be an achievement for the writer, as it will be her first attempt at writing a screenplay.

This film will be the first of a spin off trilogy that was announced earlier this year by Warner Bros. topper Kevin Tsujihara. He said he wants to follow in the footsteps of The Hobbit franchise with three ‘mega movies.’ based around Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them.

David Heyman, who was the producer of all eight Harry Potter films, will also be returning to work on ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ which will be great news to fans.

There has also been no news on who will be directing the film but hopefully, if it is not one one of the original film directors such as Chris Columbus who did an excellent job with The Sorcerers Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban, they will hopefully be able to find somebody who can help bring back to life the magical world of Hogwarts in a familiar way.
