Of the many goodies to emerge from Cannes this year, one of the most interesting is the teaser for Foxcatcher, the biopic staring Steve Carell as the coach of Olympic wrestler Channing Tatum.
Based on a true story, the film will follow the events leading up to Carell’s character, John Du Pont, murdering David Schultz played by Mark Ruffalo.
Looking at just the tailer it seems clear that Carell is incredibly creepy in his role and looks nothing like he usually does.
Early viewers of the film have said that Carell’s performance perhaps deserves an Oscar nomination, so hopefully the film is worth seeing just to see the goofy comic actor pull a dark performance out of the bag.
