Disney’s Frozen, has become the highest-grossing animated film of all time after clawing in more than $1 billion.
The winter-land adventure, which was released in November, last year, has made a giant total of $1,072,402,000 at the worldwide box-office.
This was enough to see it overtake Pixar’s 2010 release Toy Story 3 which previously held the record. The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Shrek 2 were other former holders of the title.
The film dominated both the US and UK box office opening records with $400 million profit before going on to make big bucks in other countries.
Some of its success was born from word-of-mouth, as well as its recent Oscar-winning triumphs for Best Animated Film and Best Original Song for the much-loved tune “Let It Go”.
The news is perfect timing for UK fans with the film set to be released on DVD/Blu-Ray this week.
