Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he does not rate his performances in the popular wizarding films.

The actor described his efforts as “one-note”, but acknowledged that the opportunity to portray the series’ scar-headed protagonist was a blessing.

“It’s hard to watch a film like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, because I’m just not very good in it. I hate it,” he told the Daily Mail.

“My acting is very one-note and I can see I got complacent and what I was trying to do just didn’t come across. My best film is the fifth one [Order of the Phoenix] because I can see a progression.”

Radcliffe went on to say that he believes Harry Potter writer JK Rowling approves of his take on the boy wizard.

“To my knowledge she was always very happy with the way I played him, but it’s my job to be critical,” he added.

Radcliffe is said to have made more money by his 18th birthday than Princes William and Harry were worth thanks to the success of the Harry Potter films.
