Comedy legend Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that he will appear in the Ghostbusters reboot after posting an excitable social media post from the set.
The Ghostbusters writer revealed that he was on the set of the all female movie shooting a scene with Kristen Wiig today.

The Wrap followed up on that revelation and learned that Aykroyd will be playing a cab driver in a scene with Kristen Wiig’s character.
That nugget was first reported by IndieRevolver, but they reportedly had to take it down at the request of the studio, only to have it reported in the trades later.
In addition, he’ll say a line from the original Ghostbusters theme song by Ray Parker Jr. Early guesses would probably point to “I ain’t afraid of no ghost.” With Wiig retorting that that is a double negative and so he actually is afraid of ghosts.
The question remains as to whether any other Ghostbuster cast members will make time for a cameo. Bill Murray wasn’t keen on starring in the Ghostbusters reboot, and last fall it didn’t sound like a cameo was in the cards, but it’s not necessarily impossible.
There’s also Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts and Rick Moranis who could make an appearance, though the latter is essentially retired. At this point we won’t count on anyone else showing up, but if they do, we hope it ends up being a surprise.
We can expect a solid comedic cast anyway with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones in the lead Ghostbusting roles, not to mention Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Neil Casey, Matt Walsh and more in supporting roles.
Ghostbusters is scheduled for release in July 2016.
