Pulp Fiction mastermind Quentin Tarantino has spoken out to wish Ben Affleck luck playing Batman after a his casting sparked an online backlash.
Quentin, 50, missed out to Ben Affleck and Argo in the Best Film gong at the Oscars this year and says he doesn’t envy the task of bringing Batman to the big screen.
Comic fan Quentin said that one of the problems is that Batman just isn’t an ‘interesting character.’
When it was announced that The Town star Affleck was to step into Bat’s boots for Zack Snyder’s Superman – Man Of Steel follow up, 100,000 fans signed an online petition to try and block the move.
The Django Unchained writer-director said that he thought Michael Keaton played Gotham’s protector best and that if he had his way Alec Baldwin would play Bats.
He said: “I have to admit that I don’t really have a big opinion on Ben Affleck as Batman.
“Why? Because Batman is not a very interesting character.
“For any actor. There is simply not much to play. I think Michael Keaton did it the best, and I wish good luck to Ben Affleck.
But, you know who would have made a great Batman? Alec Baldwin, back in the 80s.”
