Actor Seth Rogen has clarified comments he made about Clint Eastwood’s controversial new film American Sniper.

The Knocked Up star tweeted on Sunday that he thought the Oscar-nominated war thriller reminded him of Nation’s Pride, a short Nazi-themed film specifically made for Quentin Tarantino’s acclaimed war flick Inglorious Basterds.

Rogen took to Twitter again to inform people of what he actually meant:

“I just said something ‘kinda reminded’ me of something else. I actually liked American Sniper. It just reminded me of the Tarantino scene.

“I wasn’t comparing the two. Big difference between comparing and reminding. Apples remind me of oranges. Can’t compare them, though.”

Rogen himself has been in hot water recently, with his new release The Interview courting controversy with North Korea in the past couple of months.

American Sniper charts the true story of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) who became a national hero after using his assassin skills to help America during the Iraq War.

Nominated for six Oscars, the film is currently out in cinemas.
