Delifonseca is set to play cupid at both its venues this month with its Valentine’s celebrations.

Ideal for foodies and romantics alike, the critically acclaimed Dockside eatery will play host to the Food Lovers Weekend on Friday 13 and Saturday 14.

Menu highlights include an ambitious sharing starter platter with seven elements including Rare Roast Beef with Truffled Pesto, Potted Shrimp Tartlets and Watermelon and Feta Salad; a mystery intermediate course where diners have to match locally grow micro herbs with their names whilst sipping a shot of Mushroom & Madeira Consume; and main course choices that include Cannon of Lamb, Ballotine of Rabbit and for those couples with truly shared tastes Beef Wellington for two.

Proprietor Candice Fonseca said: “Whilst we recognise that many couples will celebrate Valentine’s Day by going out for a special meal we felt that we should be more inclusive.

“It falls on a Saturday this year so we created a luxurious food lovers menu that can be enjoyed by couples, families or groups so that no one is left sitting in at home!

“I’ve noticed over the years that our special valentines menu has been booked by parties of four or six so this year we thought we’d simply make the message clear. The ambitious menu represents great value and I’m sure will be enjoyed by all.”

Taking place exclusively on Saturday February 14, Fonseca’s on Stanley Street will spoil couples that want a more intimate private dining experience.

The romantic dinner for two will be welcomed with a glass of Perrier Jouet champagne before diving into a shared starter platters. After cleansing their palates with a Kir Royale Sorbet, diners can then choose from a range of mains including Fonseca’s Individual Welsh Black Beef Fillet Wellington; Pan Fried Fillet of Sea Bass with Spicy Vermicelli, Wilted Pak Choi and Crispy Carrot, as well as Caramelised Onion and Flaked Almond Mille-Feuille with Purple Sprouting Broccoli, Buttered Green Beans and Dark Rum Jus.

Diners can then enjoy a sweet filled dessert-sharing platter consisting of Hot Melting Chocolate Pot with Dipping Treats; Mixed Berry Frangipane and Raspberry Delice, together with Mort Subite Kriek Cherry Beer.

Candice said: “As always we want to go the extra mile for our guests to make their dining experience both special and memorable.

“Stanley Street’s gorgeous little vintage downstairs bar sets the tone of the evening and we hope that by combining good food with a welcoming ambience, diners will fall in love all over again.”

For those that like to do their Valentine’s loving in private or simply can’t find a babysitter Delifonseca once again is providing their ever popular Valentine’s at Home meal for two.

This menu provides a restaurant quality shared starter platter and shared dessert platter along with a choice of main courses. The dishes come with re-heating and plating instructions complete with a picture guide and include, Salmon en Croute (Fillet of Salmon stuffed with Cream Cheese, Smoked Salmon and Sunblushed Tomatoes wrapped in Buttery Pastry), Sous-vide Brisket of Beef in Rich Stout Gravy, Goosnagh Chicken Leg stuffed with Truffled Chicken and Tarragon Mousse and Asparagus, Cheddar and Butternut Squash Pastry with Spiced Beetroot Ragout (V).
