Here is a look at the big talking points in the world of video games this week.

Monday 11th May 2015

Lego have officially confirmed franchises Doctor Who, Portal 2, and The Simpsons level packs will
feature in the upcoming Lego Dimensions game. The game is similar to Skylanders and the Disney
Infinity series. The Doctor Who set features a Lego Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaladi, equipped with his
iconic sonic screwdriver, as well as miniature versions of the TARDIS and K-9. Portal 2’s pack features
protagonist Chell and her portal gun, plus a turret and laser block. Lastly, The Simpsons pack includes
Homer, the pink family car and a TV set showing Itchy and Scratchy.

Koji Igarash announced Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the spiritual successor to Castlevania:
Symphony of the Night. The plot sees players take control of Miriam, a woman who is suffering from
a curse that turns her blood to crystal. Seeking a cure, she must brave a “demon-filled castle” with
her pal Gebel. As stated on its Kickstarter campaign page, Bloodstained will be, “an exploration-
focused, side-scrolling platformer featuring RPG and crafting elements” and will feature co-op in the
campaign. If the Kickstarter is successful the game will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2017.

Tuesday 12th May 2015

Ubisoft has revealed Tom Clancy’s The Division has been delayed until the fourth quarter of the fiscal
year 2016, meaning a setback to roughly March 2016.

In some better news from the Ubisoft camp Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate has been confirmed and will
hit shelves 23rd October for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a release date yet to be declared for
PC. Syndicate is set in London, in 1868, and will allow players to take on the role of twin brother and
sister Jacob and Evie Frye respectively. New gameplay footage showed you can procure a horse-
drawn carriage and focused on Jacob’s new features such as; a revolver, brass knuckles, throwing
knives and an assassin gauntlet that includes hallucinogenic darts, a rope dart and a hidden blade.

Wednesday 13th May 2015

Dragon Quest 8 is coming to Nintendo 3DS 8 August 2015, in Japan. No word yet on a Western
release.

The latest trailer for Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition shows players can play through the campaign
with five different characters: Nero, Dante, Vergil, Trish, and Lady. Also the Legendary Dark Knight
difficulty mode, previously only available on PC, will now be included for all platforms.

Thursday 14th May 2015

Job Stauffer took to Twitter to confirm the first episodic download of Telltale’s The Walking Dead
Season 3 will not launch this year. He also reassured fans that something “insanely cool” is in the
pipeline leading to speculation that a standalone episode, similar to 400 Days, may be released.

In more Tom Clancy series news the highly anticipated Rainbow Six Siege received a launch date; 13
October 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Friday 15th May

Speaking to IGN about his upcoming film, Crimson Peak, Guillermo del Toro talked about his surprise
and disappointment at Konami’s “scorched earth” approach to the cancellation of Silent Hills. Despite this bad experience it seems del Torro is not too disheartened with the gaming industry as
he is involved in the creation of a cinematic trailer for Fallout 4.
