Last year, a federal jury found Anthony & Harvey Christian guilty of running a 20-year drug ring on Staten Island. On top of that, Anthony Christian was also found guilty of orchestrating the murder of Jerome “Boo Boo” Estrella back in 1999.
Christian’s lawyer Michael Gold has requested that all police files linked to the murder be released. the Staten Island Advance reports that the documents revealed that the FBI were investigating Wu-Tang Clan’s affiliation with the murders.
Wu-Tang Clan were linked to two murders in 1999, that of Estrella and also the murder of Corey “Shank Bank” Brooker – in a 1999 interview with gang member Brian Humphreys, the gunman in Estrella’s murder.
The accusations suggest that the men may have been killed because they robbed the family members of Raekwon & RZA. the documents read: “A couple of weeks before the Boo Boo shooting, Uncles (the street name of drug supplier-turned-informant Paul Ford) told Humphreys about a Blood named Boo Boo who just came home from jail. He stated that Boo Boo had robbed RZA’s little brother and had also gotten into something with the Christian brothers. Uncles was talking about Boo Boo and said that he had just come home and robbed RZA’s brother and that they would likely come after him for that. Humphreys believes Uncles was referring to members of Wu Tang.”
The filing later claims that Ford accused RZA of issuing a $30,000 contract for the murder of Brooker.
“These reports seem to suggest someone else was liable for those murders. I’m not suggesting that Wu-Tang committed these crimes. The FBI did,” Gold said to the Staten Island Advance. “What I’m trying to ascertain is their stated belief in an official file that Wu-Tang ordered this homicide.”
Federal prosecuters argues that the robbing of RZA’s brother by Estrella would be bad business for the drug trade, therefore contended that Anthony Chridtian was the organiser of the killing. They also said that Gold had access to all relevant information ahead of the trial and that Christian wouldn’t be exonerated by any of the just-released documents.
2012 saw Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI file was released, he had also been linked to Estrella’s murder by the FBI.
