Über zine has celebrated its second birthday, drooling ink over our drawing board with a strong pot of freshly ground Smoking Gun blend coffee and a trip to see The Avengers, at FACT.

Time has flown since April 2010 when we launched the debut issue and we’d like to send a big shout out and thank you to everyone who has been involved and worked on the project.

Über is a cut and paste zine in the 90s style and has featured interviews with Mark Ronson, Is Tropical, The RZA, Quentin Tarantino, Howard Marks and Craig Charles amongst others.

The zine has introduced the story of lost Superhero Digital Jesus and his struggle to discover his identity within the middle pages of the past two issues.

Über also explores themes and theories and their effect on movements in culture including the recent 18 year cycle business and culture theory – featured in the 1993 Future Throwback Issue.

We are plotting out the next edition: the 1994 Future Throwback issue and also spraying ink at the drawing board for a collection of spin off zines focussing on artists who inspire Über – so watch this space for news.

The team are always on the look out for new talent to push the project in exciting new directions, so any artists, writers, photographers and creative misfits with ideas should hit us up… digitaljesus@purplerevolver.com
