Robert kirkman, the man responsible for US smash hit series The Walking Dead, has announced he is releasing a brand new comic series.

Due out this summer, The Walking Dead mastermind is teaming up with artist Paul Azaceta to bring fans Outcast.

The story will focus on character Kyle Barnes as he starts out on a journey to learn more about the demonic possessions that have plagued him his whole life.

Kirkman said: “Like The Walking Dead is the zombie movie that never ends, this is kind of another attempt to take a sub-genre of horror, the exorcism story, and do sort of a “Greatest Hits” thing with it.”

The writer intends to utilise some of the traditional elements of an exorcism story, but also introduce some new strange elements.

“There’s going to be so many new and strange things that come into play that I think it’s going to be a celebration of the genre, but also a tearing down of what it is and what actually makes an exorcism story.”

As well as the release of a new comic, Robert Kirkman has also announced a revival of his old series Tech jacket, which he is re-branding as Tech Jacket Digital.

The series will now be lead by writer Joe Keatinge and artist Khary Randolph.

Fans can expect Outcast this July and no release date has been given for Tech Jacket Digital.
