An art exhibition based entirely on Hollywood legend Bill Murray is set to be unveiled.
Murray rose to fame during Emmy Award winning Saturday Night Live before taking to the big screen and featuring in such classics as Ghostbusters, Caddyshack and Groundhog Day.
One of the most beloved comedic actors in history Bill has been the subject of several internet memes over the years.
Curator of the exhibition Ezra Croft has decided to bring over 100 public art submissions together for a celebration of everything Murray.
Mr Croft said the event will feature: “Themed drinks, mini-putt golf, musical acts, performances, DJs and all the hilarious Bill Murray antics one could hope for.”
Murray is lauded for his laid back and positive attitude towards life. He is quoted as saying: “The more relaxed you are, the better you are at everything: the better you are with your loved ones, the better you are with your enemies, the better you are at your job, the better you are with yourself.”
The father of six played himself in the the live action and animation blockbuster Space Jam which also features NBA all start Michael Jordan.
From pop art to Roman portraits, Batman parodies to splatter paint pictures, The Bill Murray Affair has a host of pieces good enough to stand alone regardless of the exhibition’s theme.
The 63 year old played the voice of Garfield and has also had roles in The Grand Budapest Hotel and a number of other Wes Anderson films.
The pictures of Murray range from him as priest to him as a zombie. Croft, originally from St. Louis and his wife Julia recently said: “We want to create an art party atmosphere akin to the energy of Andy Warhol-esque factory parties.”
They also hope that fans will come out and celebrate the comedy icon icon by dressing up as one of their favourite Bill Murray characters.
The Murray Affair will be held San Francisco’s SF Public Works on August the 8th.
