Marvel have recently announced some big intentions for the upcoming Goblin Nation story line in the Superior Spider-man series.

We are still a few issues away from the story, but the comic Goliath have already announced a return to the page for former Spider-man Peter Parker.

Spidey’s alter ego was killed off in The Amazing Spider-man #700 when a terminally ill Doctor Octopus swaps consciousness with Spider-man’s alter ego.

It has since been revealed that despite Otto’s best efforts he failed to entirely erase Peter Parker, who will now make a return from beyond the grave after over 30 issues.

Writer Dan Slott said: “When we let him out of that box and he gets to put on that costume again and he gets to swing through the sky, it’s going to be the greatest feeling.”

Peter’s return will see the relaunch of Amazing Spider-man with Slott staying on as a writer and Humberto Ramos as the illustrator.

Marvel remain silent on how they intend to incorporate the reincarnation of Peter into the story, but our resident comic expert Day Johnson says:

“I think Spider-man will realise he was never really dead, but just twisted as Doc Ocks brain patterns were written over his own. This would mean all the bad things he did, were actually his own fault bringing the classic Peter Parker guilt into play.”
