The past week has witnessed a nation descended into chaos; London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool have all seen their streets descended upon by throngs of masked rioters organising orgies of violence and hell bent on causing destruction.

Tottenham sparked the original insurrection, after Mark Duggan was shot dead by police after being stopped carrying a gun.

But what started as a riot with a political agenda twisted dramatically into free for all looting and anarchy across the country, which has left society sickened by the mobs’ opportunism.

Purple Revolver has dug through the crates and pulled out our Top ten songs inspired by anarchy and rioting. Tracks that put all that frustration and anger towards ‘the man’ into the creative process instead of mindless looting.
