Wu Tang Abbot aka The RZA has confirmed that Eddie Griffin is in the lead to take the part of ODB in an upcoming biopic.
ODB’s cousin Raeshawn has been working on the script for two years and it is now nearing completion with Griffin in talks to play the Brooklyn Zuu rapper.
RZA said: “Raeshawn‘s been working on it for two years now. In fact, I think Eddie’s already signed on with a letter of Intent, I signed on, of course.
“So you know he got my blessin’ to make it happen.”
But in confirming Griffin as the favorite for the role, RZA also said: “Eddie Griffin is down. Me and Eddie talked about it, laughed about it. Tracy Morgan, he wanna do it [too]. I said ‘Ya’ll both kinda can do it.’
The plot thickens. Whatever happens, with his family at the helm the film will get to the heart of Russel Jones’ free spirit and will be unmissable for ODB fans.
RZA is putting the finishing touches to his kung fu flick The Man With The Iron Fist, produced and co-written by Eli Roth and starring Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu and Pam Grier.
