The Black Eyed Peas will this weekend provide high energy entertainment at the prestigious Super Bowl XLV half time show.
Fergie and co have been tasked with giving the billion global viewers a lively show. The former Mouseketeer said “We’re very particular on the wardrobe. There will be no more malfunctions.”
After Janet Jackson left little to the imagination in 2004 the NFL turned to the safer option of ageing rockers; Paul McCartney, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Springsteen have all graced the field in recent years.
But in an attempt to keep things fresh and youthful the ‘Boom Boom Pow’ group have been drafted in.
Developing over the years from underground hip-hop group to mainstream pop sensations, it remains to be seen whether the Peas are a riskier choice than Roger Daltrey or the Boss.
Either side of the performance will of course be the main show. The Green Bay Packers face the Pittsburgh Steelers for US sports biggest prize and should provide more controversy than Will.I.Am’s peeps can muster.
