Delifonseca is set to play cupid at both of its venues this Valentine’s Day with a selection of amorous celebrations.
Fonseca’s Stanley Street will host an entire weekend jammed packed with culinary delights on Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14, devised with sharing and romance in mind.
Providing the perfect musical accompaniment on the Saturday night will be talented singer Lucy Lockwood and her trio of musicians, who will return to the award winning eatery’s intimate basement bar following the success of their live Christmas Jazz and Blues evening last month.
Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said: “Year on year, we like to create unique Valentine’s offerings for all of our guests and this year is no exception. It wasn’t just couples that we had in mind when we started planning all of these – it was about coming up with something for everyone; whether you are single, in a relationship or you are just in the mood for a great night, in great company, surrounded by delicious food and drink.”
To kick-start the duo of feasts, guests will tuck into shared starter platters featuring Confit Gressingham Duck “Bon Bon”, Liverpool Gin and Beetroot Cured Salmon and Asparagus wrapped in Serrano.
Main course highlights include Sharing Welsh Black Beef “Chateaubriand” with Beef Dripping Triple Cooked Chips and all the trimmings and Fillet of John Dory served with Samphire and Caviar. Guests can then choose from either Trio of Chocolate or a selection of Camembert au Calvados and Petit Longres with a glass of Recioto for dessert.
Those opting for a later sitting can enjoy luxurious additions including an arrival glass of Perrier Jouet Champagne, an Amuse Bouche of Salt Baked Celeriac and White Truffle “Cappuccino” and a palate cleanser of Peach Champagne Bellini Sorbet.
Delifonseca Dockside, located on Brunswick Quay, will also play host to its very own ‘Food Lovers Weekend’ from Friday, February 12 until Sunday, February 14.
Candice said: “Some might want to come and dine with us in the restaurant, where as others may want to shop in the deli and cook for their loved one in the comfort and intimacy of their own home. It’s fair to say that we are certainly spreading the love this year with all of the different options.
“For those who do prefer to celebrate Valentine’s at home, we are once again offering our ever popular take-home hamper, which can be tailored individually by us and collected at Dockside.”
For those choosing to dine out, menu highlights include a Kir Royale on arrival followed by a starter platter to share and an interlude of Butternut Squash, Goats Cheese and Pumpkin Seed Soup.
For a main course, guests can choose from options such as Stuffed Saddle of Rabbit with Fondant Potatoes and Buttered Spinach, Pan Fried Anglesey Seabass with Vegetable Spaghetti and Confit Red Onion and Golden Vegetable Tart.
Those with a sweet tooth can indulge in Raspberry Tart, Dark Chocolate and a Pink Champagne Sorbet, White Chocolate and Raspberry Millefuille or a Cheese Platter.
