It’s Sunday once again, time for our ACBA image of the week, this time, we’re going to infinity and beyond!
We have some Toy Story art, amazing movies, brilliant ACBA to be made, today is a great example.
Diego Compagnucci is providing the artwork, we reached out to him to see how this awesome shot came together and the following is what he told us:
“What we have here is a picture of Woody and Buzz, from Toy Story, trying to save Jessie from being trapped in child’s toy basket.”
“This photo was taken for ACBA’s Photo Kombat competition, going on now. The theme was “friendship” so I racked my brain thinking of comic book and pop culture friendships. I knew I wanted to do something different and interesting to look at.”
“So when Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” popped in my head, I knew Toy Story was
the answer and the rest, as they say, is history. I ran different scenarios of what they could be doing and thought there’s no better sign of friendship than saving your friend from danger.”
“It was also was influenced from the scene in Toy Story 3 where the gang get captured by the bad toys. I grabbed some of my Revoltech Toy Story figures, some of my kids toys and went to work. Overall I just wanted to make a picture that was fun to look at and expressed the power of friendship.”
