2024’s video games – ones to watch out for

Strap yourself into your gaming chair as it’s set to be an outstanding year for releases. From brand new games to sequels, gamers will be spoiled for choice as the year unfolds.

Highlights include free world roaming games from the DC Universe, a quest with the iconic South Park squad and enough battle scenes to test and enthuse even the most accomplished of gamers.

Here’s our run down of the best games to hit our consoles in the coming months.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Ubisoft) 

Unleash your inner warrior by using your combat and time skills to perform deadly combos to defeat mythological creatures and enemies.

Playing as the prophet Sargon, you will use his sword-wielding skills to complete missions.

Dive into the Persian mythological fantasy through an exciting and original story as you use your skills to solve puzzles, find treasure and complete quests in this mysterious and corrupted realm.

Discover a world with magical landmarks and a variety of highly detailed biomes, each with their identity, wonder and danger.

The game is set to be released on the 15th of January on Xbox One, Xbox One series x, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Skull and Bones (Ubisoft) 

Enter the treacherous world of Skull And Bones. Learn to become a pirate during the golden age in the Indian Ocean.

Rise from an outcast to an infamous marauder, as you complete missions in this free world roaming game. Single and multiplayer options are available as you go into battle in the disrupted waters.

The gameplay which was originally inspired by Assassins Creed Black Flag allows you to collect treasures as well as weapons like mortars, rockets, and broadside cannons.

Skull and Bones will be released on Xbox One series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Amazon Luna.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (Rocksteady Studios) 

This third person shooter Rocksteady game is set to burst onto the scene and is one of the most anticipated games for the year.

Play as Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark, recast as the heroes of the game as they take on a corrupted minded Superman, Batman, and The Flash in a script-flip showdown.

Set in the city of Metropolis, you will complete tasks whilst collecting weaponry, armour, and health packs to prepare yourself for the many battles. Players must defeat the evil master Brainiac to free the superheroes’ minds and return Metropolis to their safe and guiding hands.

Players will be able to enjoy this game from 30th of January on Xbox One Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

Tekken 8 (Bandai Namco) 

Experience the next chapter is this long running franchise with 32 newly redesigned characters to crush and destroy your enemies.

The brand-new game continues the tragic saga of the Mishima bloodline with bloody father and son battles. After the main protagonist Heihachi Mishima defeats his father, he must go on a bloody quest to gain world domination. By using the forces of G Corporation, he will try to wage war on the entire world.

In the brand-new battle scenes use the brand new ‘Heat’ system to destroy your enemies. Enjoy new high-fidelity graphics to showcase all the new special moves and powers in fight scenes.

Enjoy Tekken 8 from 26th of January on Xbox One Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC

South Park: Snow Day (Question)

Made by South Park Digital Studios, the next chapter in the story of the kid will be available this year for South Park fans to play.

Join Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny in their new adventure of defeating a blizzard that has brought their hometown into chaos and more importantly cancelled school for the day.

Play solo or with friends to battle through the snow piled town and compete in battle against warring factions. Develop unique weapons and special powers to save the world and to enjoy the day off school.

South Park fans can save the day from 26th of March on Xbox One Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.
